Body Mechanics

For Modern Life

About The Team

Nobody teaches people how their own body works. Not in a way that actually sticks.

Megan and Whitney came from different worlds and kept seeing the same thing: people spend all day reacting to their body instead of understanding it.  So they decided to fix that.

Modbod is the body manual you were never given.

Megan Spell

Movement educator.  Ergonomics specialist.  Human-computer strategist.

A former dancer turned educator with 20+ years across performance, biomechanics, and design, Megan helps people move, think, and work smarter.

She holds:
• BA in English – University of Arizona
• MSc in Human-Computer Interaction – University College London
• Advanced Certificate in Occupational Ergonomics – Colorado State University
• BASI Pilates Certification – Body Arts and Science International

She has a gift for making complicated things feel obvious. She is obsessed with the moment people realize their body has been talking to them their whole lives. They just never learned the language.

Whitney Schmanski

Movement curator. Experiential educator. Visual Designer.

With 15+ years across dance, movement education, and performance training, Whitney helps people move with more control, clarity, and resilience.

She holds:
• BFA in Dance – The Juilliard School
• MFA in Dance Research – University of California, Irvine
• Certifications in GYROTONIC® Method and Pilates

She gets people out of autopilot and back into curiosity. Her sessions are playful, physical, and deeply felt. Her belief is simple: people who feel better in their bodies move through the world differently.

Jean Spell

Movement advocate.  Master educator.  Curriculum architect.

With 28 years in the classroom and a decade developing curriculum and training teachers across Nevada, Jean knows exactly what works in a school day.

She holds:

  • BA in Elementary Education, University of Nevada Reno

  • MA in Secondary Curriculum, University of Nevada Reno

Jean fought to bring PE back into elementary schools and now brings an educator's eye to Modbod Moves.  She designs for the teachers who have full plates and zero extra time, and the students who need to feel it to believe it. She knows what works in a classroom because she spent three decades finding out.
